With long miles and miles of beautiful beaches, a world renowned
Zoo, great restaurants, great waves for surfing, spectacular sunsets,
internationally acclaimed horse racing and golfing, and ideal weather
all year round, what is there not to love about San Diego?
One of the very interesting attractions in San Diego are its great
beaches. However in San Diego, no two beaches are the same - each
one endowed with a unique attribute of its own. Do you need some
ideas on which beach to go to when in San Diego? Here is a list
of seven of the Best Beaches in San Diego: (a) Mission Beach - This
is only a stone's throw away from SeaWorld lies Mission Beach, where
Belmont Park is located which is a beach front amusement park a
lot similar of Coney Island and the Santa Monica Pier. (b) Pacific
Beach - Whether you are traveling along the ostensibly endless boardwalk
or simply sipping a cold beer at one of the many beach front bars,
Pacific Beach which is commonly known as "PB" is the place
where people can watch out for. With its convenient distance to
great nightlife, PB is the most desired haunt of college students
out for a good time.
(c) Dog Beach - In the period of "off leash" season which
happens from the day after Labor Day until 15th of June, this tiny
strip of ocean front which is located north of 29th Street in Del
Mar is an ideal place for dogs to run, move, play, swim, frolic
and well...just be a dog!
(d) Coronado Beach - Gentle cool waves, ample open spaces, pristine
clean sand and the famous and magnificent Hotel del Coronado in
the background have bagged for this beach a spot on the Travel Channel's
Top Ten Best Beaches in USA. (e) La Jolla Cove - The north end location
is a snorkeller's haven and home to the refreshing La Jolla Underwater
Park Ecological Reserve. At the south end portion, you will find
Seal Rock, where you can see many wild California grey seals. (f)
Swami's Beach - Look out your surfing mojo at Swami's Beach in Encinitas.
Nestled at the south of the Self-Realization Fellowship Ashram's
Hermitage and Mediation Gardens, Swami's Beach is where you will
see some of the most refreshing waves in San Diego. (g) Blacks Beach
- Although public nudity is not allowed in San Diego, life guards
tend to brush aside this regulation when it comes to Blacks Beach,
which has been popularly famous as San Diego's nude beach. Blacks
Beach is near Torrey Pines State Beach.
